(Promotional discounts applied at checkout.) This annual event is the only opportunity for visitors to enter more than a dozen private historic homes on the Nation’s oldest residential street. Like the house interiors themselves, some boast rare traditional decorations and others feature their owners’ own artistic imaginations.
The celebration will include music by the Colonial Revelers, refreshments, story telling, our upside-down Christmas tree, a book signing by the authors of Lost Philadelphia, and a visit by Benjamin Franklin himself (He had friends on the Alley). New this year, the holiday event will feature authentic 18th century mummery and a special appearance by colonial Pennsylvania’s own “cranky Santa” – Belsnickel.
